The role

The Sales Development Associate will use all available sources to identify local and out-of-market companies who would enhance the St. Petersburg community by growing high quality jobs locally. Propsect companies of consideration will align with one of five Targeted Industries identified by St. Petersburg’s community and economic development strategy, Grow Smarter (Financial Services, Specialized Manufacturing, Creative Art & Design, Marine & Life Sciences, and Data Analytics). The Sales Development Associate will work closely with members of the digital marketing team to manage the EDC’s Customer Relationship Management system and to create and execute digital campaigns that resonate with prospect companies and bring them on a journey to ultimately choose St. Pete as their center for growth. In addition, the Sales Development Associate will nurture relationships with prospect companies and manage the varying stages of the lead to expansion or relocation process. The Sales Development Associate will report directly to the EDC President.


  • • Bachelor’s degree or higher, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • • Background in B2B sales
  • • Experience working in and managing CRM systems, preferably Hubspot
  • • Comfort using digital platforms to manage projects
  • • Excellent attention to detail
  • • Ability to communicate with employees, prospects, and partners of the organization, including at C-level
