Global retail media technology company CitrusAd has opened its U.S. headquarters in St. Petersburg, the heart of Tampa Bay. Since opening last fall, the e-commerce ad network has hired 50 team members locally and anticipates hiring additional employees in the months to come.
The St. Pete Catalyst reports that "All responses led to downtown St. Pete," when CitrusAd surveyed team members about home locations, walkability, commutes, city preferences, etc.
Rebekah Davila, CitrusAd's vice president of business development and onboarding, noted, “A significant factor was us wanting to find a location that aligned with the company’s young/fun spirit in being an emerging ad tech company. We felt that St. Pete hit on our desired target with its funky vibe and many expanding businesses.”
The CitrusAd platform helps brands reach shoppers utilizing retailers’ first party data to make offerings and online experiences more tailored to individual shopper habits and preferences. This is of increasing importance for marketers as the use of third-party cookies for targeting declines.
CitrusAd plans to nearly double its U.S. team within the next 12-18 months to support their massive growth. Primary roles are in sales, client support, advertising campaign operations, analytics, design, engineering, development, and technical account management. With significant growth, building a strong team is a core focus for CitrusAd.
CitrusAd CEO Brad Moran said, “As we looked at opening our U.S. headquarters, we chose St. Petersburg, the best place in Tampa Bay, because it combines a business-friendly environment with the great quality of life that will help us attract and retain the employees we need to grow.”
David Haase, CitrusAd’s Chief Revenue & Development Officer adds, “The St. Pete area is ripe with talented people who have the creative and data analytics skills we need.”

I am so pleased to welcome the entire CitrusAd team to the Sunshine City.”
The St. Pete Economic Development Corporation sees the deal as continued momentum for the City’s economic growth and proof that the objectives of the Grow Smarter Strategy of driving equitable economic prosperity by targeting key sectors primed for growth are being fulfilled. The EDC will continue to partner with CitrusAd to assist in the expansion and development of the company.
J.P. DuBuque, President & CEO of the EDC, notes, “The selection of St. Petersburg as headquarters for this leading-edge marketing technology business reflects our community’s growth as a hub for Tampa Bay tech and creative companies and workers.”
