Peveeta Samuel is a Senior Economic Development Manager for Duke Energy Florida. In her role, she collaborates with economic development partners to assist prospective businesses with location decisions, which support communities with capital investment and job growth. 

She previously managed the economic development team’s programs and compliance initiatives, through which she developed, managed and evaluated incentive programs to help solve competitive economic development challenges in Duke Energy Florida’s service territory. 

Peveeta has 19 years of experience as a public relations practitioner and communicator. Prior to joining the economic development team, she managed the company’s philanthropic giving in Florida as the Foundation manager, and also previously served in a corporate communications/media relations role with Duke Energy. She has also held positions at the University of Florida Department of Pediatrics/UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital, Marion County Fire Rescue and a large McDonald’s® franchisee. 

Peveeta graduated from the University of Central Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Advertising/Public Relations with minors in Business and Marketing and she earned her Masters of Business Administration at the University of Florida in 2021.  

She is married and has two young children, a son and daughter.
