The Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg seeks to address health disparities, advance population health, and achieve health equity in Pinellas County. The Foundation’s focus is to cultivate compelling solutions to address our Community’s most important needs by leveraging collaborations and the sustained commitment of funders and advocates. Their goal is to help develop solutions that generate sustained and measureable improvements to our community’s health.
Randall H. Russell, President & CEO
Randall H. Russell joined the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg in March 2015 as the founding President and Chief Executive Officer. With a dossier that spans 30 years, he is especially adept at helping communities galvanize and flourish through high-level advocacy efforts, individual tenaciousness, and a commitment to using both private and public sector resources to create systemic and community change.
Prior to joining the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg, Randall served as the Chief Executive Officer of Lifelong, a $30 million nonprofit based in Seattle that provides home-delivered meals, housing, care coordination, and policy/advocacy efforts for those with chronic illness including HIV/AIDS.
When possible, Russell enjoys giving back to his profession through teaching social work as an adjunct professor at the University of Washington and the University of Alabama. He is a proud alumnus of Indiana University (Bachelor of Arts) and of the University of Alabama (Master of Social Work).
Interestingly, Randy was also a professional bassoonist in the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and spent many years as a marketing, public relations and development employee for six orchestras across the United States. In his spare time, he loves cooking and the great outdoors.
