Tampa International Airport (TPA) is an international airport six miles west of Downtown Tampa, founded in 1950. The airport is publicly owned by the Hillsborough County Aviation Auhority and has been praised for its architecture and Landside/Airside design.
Tampa International Airport is served by more than twenty major air carrier airlines, four regional airlines, and three cargo carriers. The airport presently serves 93 non-stop destinations throughout North America, Central America, the Caribbean, and Europe with nearly 20 million annual passengers. Tampa International is also one of only two airports in the United States to host regular flights to four Cuban cities.
Kenneth Strickland, Director of Research & Air Service Development at Tampa International Airport (TPA)
As Tampa International Airport’s Director of Research & Air Service Development, Kenneth Strickland leads TPA’s consumer research team, and works to expand non-stop service between the Tampa Bay region and various markets across the globe. Kenneth joined TPA in 2013 following a 10-year career in supplier and client side corporate market research roles across a wide array of industries, and is an industry expert and author in the areas survey research and quantitative analysis.
Kenneth has lived in St. Petersburg for 15 years along with his wife, Tampa immigration attorney Krista Eyler. The couple has twin six-year old sons who attend North Shore Elementary, and Kenneth is the current president of Friends of North Shore Elementary – a 501(c)(3) non-profit tasked with promoting and building community support for the school. Kenneth holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University, a master’s degree from The Ohio State University, and is currently completing a dissertation towards a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida.
