Courtney Barnard

Courtney Barnard is the Director of Government Affairs for Verizon in Florida. Her role is to build and grow Verizon's partnerships with government, industry, and nonprofit partners. Courtney is responsible for municipal government affairs and external relations across the state. Courtney's career has spanned both California and Florida where she has led public policy and grassroots engagement for political campaigns, trade organizations, and the private sector. Prior to her role with Verizon, Courtney was a public policy leader with the Florida Realtor Association and Florida Apartment Association. Prior to moving to Florida, Courtney worked on the 2010 California Governor's race.
Courtney is a native of California and a graduate of Scripps College, the women's college of the Claremont University Consortium. She completed her Master's at The University of Central Florida, and holds a certificate in European Union Public Policy from the University of Washington/Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Courtney serves on the executive board of Conservation Florida, she is a graduate of Leadership Florida, and Verizon Pre Leader Academy. In her spare time she enjoys travel, hiking, and baking. Her recent hikes include Gros Morne Fjord and a portion of the Appalachian Trail.
