ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.-(June 6, 2018) – The St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corporation (EDC) partnered with the Florida-Israel Business Accelerator (FIBA) to host 6 Israeli companies considering a U.S. Operation for the event, “Meet the Companies” on June 5. The forum, held at 3 Daughter’s Brewing provided the opportunity for the six dynamic companies to present their respective business models and hear first hand from the community about doing business in St. Petersburg.
Rachel Marks Feinman, Executive Director for FIBA, kicked off the event with an overview of the Accelerator’s mission and introduced participating entrepreneurs that included companies from the Data Analytics, Manufacturing, and Life & Marine Sciences industries.
“The success of FIBA in attracting Israeli companies to establish offices here in Tampa Bay depends on the support of the whole community,” Rachel Feinman, Executive Director of FIBA said. “The support from J.P.’s team at the St. Pete EDC and from each of its investors to warmly welcome our group makes a lasting impact on our companies.”
Florida Blue, Tech Data, Presence, and Grow FL were among the more than 40 St. Petersburg companies represented at the event.
“It’s very encouraging to see the partnership between the St. Petersburg EDC and the Florida-Israel Business Alliance driving innovative companies to our region,” David Punzak, St. Petersburg EDC Chairman said. “The companies that presented and engaged with the St. Pete community align well with our Grow Smarter Strategy’s identified target industries, and each company would be a great asset to our City.”
