J. P. DuBuque is President & CEO of the Greater St. Petersburg Area Economic Development Corporation (EDC), the “Storyteller in Chief” for St. Petersburg as a business and career location that connects businesses with the people and programs that will help them grow.
J.P. is a veteran corporate recruiter, innovative leader and experienced economic development authority who provides the strategic vision and directs the efforts of the EDC in its mission to market the City as a business destination. In addition, J.P. works with local businesses to ensure their success.
Prior to joining the St. Petersburg EDC, J.P. was with the Tampa Hillsborough EDC serving as the VP of Finance & Administration, as well as interim CEO. J.P. is skilled in business operations, human resources, financial management and marketing. He received his Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Salisbury University where he was inducted in the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Fraternity.
J.P. is also deeply committed to the community. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Greater St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and the United Way Suncoast of Tampa Bay.
J.P. is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management, International Economic Development Council, Florida Economic Development Council, and Southern Economic Development Council. He has been a two-time Finalist for Tampa Bay Business Journal’s CFO of the Year.
When he is not telling others about how awesome St. Pete is, J.P. enjoys this region by spending time engaged in outdoor activities with his wife, Patti, and sons Kellan and Camden. J.P. is also an avid music fan and enjoys as many concerts and festivals as he can.
Anne designs and executes the EDC’s marketing and communications initiatives to position St. Petersburg as an optimal location for businesses and talent.
Prior to joining the EDC, Anne served as marketing director at a strategic marketing firm, director of marketing at a regional law firm outside Washington, DC, and executive director of a local chamber of commerce. Anne graduated cum laude from Georgetown University.
When she’s not extolling the virtues of St. Petersburg as a place to live, work, and play, she’s walking near the water with her rescue dog, Furby.
Meghan is responsible for prospecting and recruiting companies that align with the five targeted industries of the Grow Smarter initiative. She helps create and execute campaigns that resonate with prospect companies and bring them on a journey to ultimately choose St. Petersburg as their center for growth. In addition, she nurtures relationships with prospect companies and manages the varying stages of the lead to expansion or relocation process.
Meghan helps tell the story of St. Petersburg to prospects, and educates them on the advantages of the friendly community as a business and career growth destination. She enjoys helping business leaders to envision their companies in the prosperous St. Petersburg atmosphere and to falling in love with the warmth of the Sunshine City.
Prior to the EDC, Meghan worked for a local manufacturing company in a B2B sales role where she managed accounts from lead to product shipment. Previous to that, Meghan has held various marketing roles in house and on the agency side where she gained experience building and implementing several marketing and advertising strategies for local and national companies. Meghan graduated from John Carroll University with a Bachelors in Arts in Communications.
Meghan enjoys cooking and volunteering her time with the Where Love Grows organization that helps combat the epidemic of childhood hunger by teaching children from various Boys & Girls Clubs how to cook for themselves.
