St. Pete Named Best City in Florida for Job Seekers

People have kicked 2020 to the curb pretty eagerly. With the COVID-19 pandemic, it brought a lot of unknowns in the past year especially in the jobs market. In 2020, we saw 22 million jobs lost in the pandemic, and watched the unemployment rate reach 14.7%, the highest in history. It was a hard year for most industries and many are still trying to recoup from the past year.

With staggering numbers like those it’s been hard to feel hopeful, but the average unemployment rate has already dropped to 6.7% nationwide, and we have seen many regain employment. As the nation looks to recover St. Petersburg, FL has recently found itself named one of the best cities for job seekers for 2021. In a report done by WalletHub, they compared 180 U.S. cities across 32 key indicators ranging from job opportunities to employment growth. On that list, St. Pete topped the list for Florida cities being ranked #51 overall.

There has been a revitalization to the Sunshine City over the past few years that roots from the city’s diverse culture and world famous art scene that has transform the city from a tourist town into a thriving destination for companies to grow and for people to have careers. From Fortune 500 companies like Raymond James and Jabil to exciting industry changing startups like Intrinio and Presence, St. Pete has become a top location for an expanding workforce and recruitment for job seekers around the world.
