The Tampa Bay metro area in Florida was ranked the #5 relocation destination in the country in a recent Redfin report. While home prices have risen in the region, they tend to be more affordable than those in higher-cost cities like New York, the number one origin for those migrating to Florida. In addition, the lack of state income tax makes Tampa-St. Pete-Clearwater an attractive destination for people in higher tax states.
Redfin analyzed about two million Redfin.com users who viewed for-sale homes online across more than 100 metro areas from November 2022 to January 2023. The Tampa Bay region drew 5,200 people looking to move and was second only to Miami as a popular relocation destination in Florida. For more, read the Redfin report.
