Lynx Automation, a property automation company, has announced it’s relocating its corporate headquarters from California to the Tampa Bay area. The company currently has 50 employees and plans to double that over the next year by hiring local people in such roles as account management, customer support, sales, and software engineering.
Lynx Automation works with property managers and operators of vacation rentals and hotels, offering technology solutions including PMS integrated keyless entry, home automation for thermostat and sensors combined with workflow automation and guest communication. While the company is currently remote, it plans to secure office space within the Tampa Bay area when it hits a critical mass in hiring.
Company executives cited many reasons for the move, chief among them being Florida’s pro-business climate, low tax environment and greater business development opportunities. Furthermore, Tampa Bay’s growing technology and startup community, which is not saturated yet and has the drive to continue to grow, was another draw for the company. The award-winning beaches and local lifestyle also won over the company’s co-founders as they feel they’ll enjoy a better work-life balance in Tampa Bay.
“We have enjoyed working with both the Tampa Bay EDC and the St. Pete EDC as we evaluated where we wanted to build the future of our company, and we’ve found the people here in Tampa Bay to be very warm and helpful,” said Resha Shroff, co-founder and CEO of Lynx Automation. “We already have customers in the area, and we know there is greater opportunity to further expand our customer base here. We’re confident Tampa Bay is the perfect fit for us, and we look forward to being a part of this growing technology and startup ecosystem.”

The respective EDC teams provided Lynx with community overviews of the Tampa Bay area, market research and labor statistics, and collaborated with local startup partners like Tampa Bay Wave and Embarc Collective. Lynx is the latest company to announce a relocation from California, following AutoSlide, Engineered Fluids, and OPSWAT.
Lynx was created to solve the problems the company’s co-founders were facing as hosts of their own vacation rentals and long-term rentals. They wanted to automate the mundane and time-consuming aspects of rental management. In 2022, the company was recognized on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies, including ranking #8 in the travel and hospitality category.
