Praxis is an apprenticeship program in founded by Isaac Morehouse in 2013. It places young people at paid positions with startup companies. Participants in the program are not required to have a college degree. Praxis was founded by . Praxis places participants with business partners to work 30 hours per week as an employee (as opposed to a traditional intern). Participants then complete 10 hours per week's worth of coursework designed by professors contracted with Praxis. The academic and non-academic subjects in the curriculum is designed to instill a level of entrepreneurial thinking in the participants, and to challenge them to think broadly about complex questions. The combination of hands-on work experience, technical education in the curriculum, and a liberal arts education is designed to train participants to work practically and to be analytic thinkers
Internships & Apprenticeships
Praxis connects high-quality professionals early in their career who want to learn on the job by creating value for employers. Praxis participants complete a 6-month professional bootcamp prior to being matched with potential companies where they learn everything they need to start strong from day one. Employers pay the apprentice $2,400 per month, provide an opportunity for at least one self-guided project, and maintain monthly communication with Praxis staff.
